  1. Just happened to see the quiz while scrolling through FB and took it. The results fit me very well! Gave me a good idea of where to focus my game! Thanks!

  2. In Nov I turned 60 on my Bday I got a new head extreme racquet for my bday present to myself but the quiz I took made sense to me. I have been playing tennis sense ju high and hitting with friends then graduated to the old guys at the court so had to learn to hit allot of stuff but just this last sunday I played outside tennis in Dec in Minnesota yes outside in MN played a guy I had never beat until that day won In two sets my serve was on and my ground strokes were good but I was allot more consistant with what I hit 6-3 6-3 gives me more confidence do to better now against him ill have to look at the video about how to hit my forhand harder but thanks for the tips you gave me

  3. I think this is true—all around player, however, the one thing that has eluded me was a good serve. After all these years, I finally have just started working on this. If I can finally perfect this, then for sure–all around player will be correct!!!!!

    1. Hi Carla. Thanks for taking our quiz! If you need help on your serve check out some coaches in your local area at playyourcourt.com. I’m sure a lesson or two will make you a “true” all court player!

  4. Thanks for the quiz it fit me to a “t”! Everything Scott said matched my game perfectly. I am old school serve and volley Pete Sampras type of game. Federer is who I follow since Sampras retired. I learned a lot from these players watching and playing tennis since the early 1970’s, Johnny Mac, Borg and Sampras and now Federer. I am 55 years old now and still get on the courts when I can, my son and I play a lot. Mulli1

  5. I will turn 77 this coming July. Started playing tennis in the 7th grade & haven’t stopped except from October 1961 to Oct 1965 – got drafted!!! Still play a solid 4.0 game & playing this sport has helped keep me very healthy & in shape all thee years along with proper exercise, living right & healthy eating habits. All 3 of our children played tennis during high school & the youngest is now a Tennis Professional in Florida!!!! Plan on playing at least another 10 years!!!

  6. Thanks, I’ve been told the exact info you’ve given me. I must say I’m surprised. Thanks for the help. Now to get back on the court and and make some adjustments.

  7. What was said discribe my game to the t, I have played for about 40 years I.m 70 years old and still love the game.

  8. Definitely me & what I strive to be–an All Court Player! Thanks for the tip about how to handle “pushers”–I’m sort of doing what you advice (eg, variety, drop shots, etc). I gup learning tennis the “old fashioned way” where folks go chips & charge to the net–now I notice almost everyone stays back in the baseline & hits with a double-handed backhand. How boring!!

  9. I had a 6 level back fusion from, T12-S1, last October, brought on mostly as a result of 22 years service in the Army, and jumping out of planes a few too many times. My back has kept me from playing competitive tennis for years, and my back was totally shot by the time I had the surgery. One of my motivations for surgery was to get my body close enough physically so that I could try to play again, at least before age overtook my capabilities to play into the future (I’m 57).
Healing started quickly, but went south in late March, when several screws refused to fuse in. By now I had hoped to be back on the court, but that dream has fizzled. I will be having a second surgery on July 26th to repair the new problem, by Shoring up the existing screws and having another fusion from my iliac to my S1, bilaterally. My surgeon states that I should see an 85% improvement in my pain level, as soon as by mid-August. So while I am delayed in my goal of returning to the court, my dream is not dead. I still hope to get back on the course to hit before
    Autumn roles around.

  10. You should have Rafter, Vilas, Nastase or Ashe for us older guys. Been playing tennis for 42 years. Continental grip and hitting a volley is still the ultimate thrill. If I could control my toss and get more power in my serve, I would be the most dangerous man in my winter league.

    1. I wish we could fit all the greats, but not enough room! 🙂 I’m a big fan of serve and volley myself. If you want to improve your toss and serve, search for a coach at playyourcourt.com!

  11. I am an all around player with a 4.5 rating. I have a variety of shots but looking for a new racquet, I am at a loss. I use a lot of wrist actions, have power and finesse. I am 56 year old woman who can always learn to be a better player

    1. There are a couple of new racquets that may fit your game if you’re wanting to spin like Rafa. 16×16 string patterns by prince and babolat. Mix in some rough hybrid string Encode 4S or polyfiber black venom in crosses and poly like luxilon big banger au power or gamma glide in mains at 48 to 56 lbs.
