Learn more about ourEverything is bigger in Texas. The food, the hats, and the sports. Dallas is one of the best sports towns in the country, featuring pro teams in nearly every sport possible. It should also come as no surprise that in the largest metropolitan area in Texas, there is also a fantastic tennis scene. No, the tennis balls they use aren’t bigger than normal, but the tennis scene in general is certainly larger than life! There are countless tennis leagues and public tennis facilities seemingly around every corner.
The City of Dallas Parks and Recreation Department maintains five flagship public full service tennis centers scattered throughout Dallas. They are open every day and include lighted courts, leagues, tournaments, and full-service pro shops that include retail plus equipment and repair services. The Fair Oaks Tennis Center is one of the five facilities and is located right in the heart of Dallas in a gorgeous woodland. It boasts fourteen outdoor hard courts that are all lighted so you can play any time the park is open. To reserve courts and pay the (small) fee for court time, head to their website.
If you're in Northern Dallas you'll want to head to the Fretz Tennis Center, located at the corner of Hillcrest and Belt Line Road. There you'll find fifteen outdoor hard courts, also all lit, with a full-service pro shop. You can opt to get weather and court updates sent to your phone from the Fretz Tennis Center by signing up on their website using your mobile device.
